The statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali, built in the tenth century A.D., is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Jainism. Located in Shravanabelagola, India, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world flock to the statue once every 12 years for an event known as Mahamastakabhisheka.
